Chica Bay - Puerto del Carmen

One of the most diverse diving areas on the island is Playa Chica in Puerto del Carmen. Playa Chica bay is part of this wonderful divesite. It offers scope for everybody – no matter if you are a swimmer, snorkeller, or diver – beginner or professional.

The divesite Playa Chica bay offers “confined water” – conditions. Because of that we use and recommend it for try-out dives, courses, kids-diving and refresher courses.

Chica Bay has an easy entry from the beach and two long lava tongues protect the shallow area from waves and currents. Thanks to that people can start their first underwater attempts in a safe way. Compared to a pool however, you can see thousands of things like anemones, crabs, starfish, sea urchins, cuttlefish, sea hares, many fish species and much more.

If you dive further out, you can go to the left or right side of the Playa Chica bay and explore the unterwater world in about 12m depth. If you are lucky, you can find angel sharks, different types of rays, octopus and even sea horses in this area as well.

If you want to dive this divesite, drop us a line and we will arrange something.

Charco del Palo

The divesite Charco del Palo is situated on a rocky shore line in the north of the Island and is of typical volcanic nature. Huge lava fields once flooded from the volcanic interior down into the ocean to form this stunning underwater environment. There are lots of beautiful overhangs, caves and tunnels to explore. This is why the site is great for old hands and less experienced divers alike.

There are also extensive sand-areas to explore, where the likes of angelsharks and rays can be found. These sandy areas are interrupted by lava-tubes which play host to a wide diversity of life including nudibranchs, crabs, shrimps, moray eels, damsels, barracuda, grouper etc.. The sandy areas drop off like a ski-slope into the dark depths of the ocean, hovering here for a moment or two to gaze out into the blue one gains an appreciation of this vast, spectacular underwater realm.

Charco del Palo can only be dived if there is little wind and it is especially great between March – May, when the chances to see loads of rays (20+) is higher then the rest of the year.

All in all: The divesite Charco del Palo offers a diver all their heart can desire: Various species from large to small, tunnels, caves and stunning rock formations. Both photographer and adventure diver alike will get their money´s worth, no two dives are the same and always something new to explore.

Playa Jablillo in Costa Teguise

Playa Jablillo in Costa Teguise is around about 200m wide and is the smallest beach of Costa Teguise. It is Daivoon’s “housebay” and offers ideal conditions for try dives and beginner courses. The large stone wall separating the bay from the open ocean provides shelter from big waves and harsh current.

Photographers and experienced divers will also find countless things to enjoy on this easy and relaxed dive.

Playa Jablillo is our recommendation to anyone who wishes to experience our beautiful underwater realm for the first time in a calm and safe environment.

The beach offers an easy entrance and leads to a variety of underwater habitats. Many creatures find protection in the bay with ideal conditions making it a perfect nesting site for many species. The bay is home to arrow crabs, starfish, sepia and sea hares etc and plays host to various schools of colourful fish species. At high tide the maximum depth is about 5m which also makes the bay a great place to snorkel.

Playa Jablillo in Costa Teguise

The stone wall is submerged at high tide which gives us the opportunity to leave the bay and dive outside. Along the wall barracudas, moray eels and sepia will be there to greet you in this wonderful underwater landscape. With a little luck you will be able to catch a glimpse of a beautiful ray here as well. With a maximum depth of about 15m, this spot is ideal for junior divers, families and open water students alike.
